Standard and Advanced
If you need your website to store and retrieve information then you'll need a database. Complete with MySQL databases, our Standard and Advanced packages are perfect for sites such as directories, eCommerce websites and forums.

How much disk space and traffic do I need?
5 GB: is enough space to grow.

10 Gb is Recommended for larger websites, this is ideal if you host lots of photos, images, documents and other media and wish to grow.

Traffic: This is the amount of content and media that your site displays to visitors. The more people who find and use your website, the more traffic (or bandwidth) you need. Our Standard and Advanced packages come with substantial traffic.

Which package should I choose?
If you're just starting out or want to test some development ideas, try the Starter package; if you need something more powerful, then we have a number of options with increasingly sophisticated features.

VPS vs Shared hosting
Shared hosting runs on shared virtual resources and there are no dedicated RAM or CPU allocations. As your site grows, you may encounter performance issues because your website and database require more system resources.

This is where Virtual Private Servers come in. VPS gives you dedicated virtual resources, including your own storage space, vCPU, RAM and bandwidth. By taking advantage of these resources, you optimise your application and enjoy improved performance and greater stability.

Disk space, RAM and system resources
There are several factors to consider. One is that you can always upgrade should you reach the limits of your package.

Another is that the operating system that you choose to install will take up space on your VPS.

When it comes to RAM, the basic rule is the more you have the better – obviously within reason!

This is because RAM is the fast, short-term memory available for your operating system, programmes and processes.

More RAM means better performance.
And as with desktop computers, access to more CPUs will give you faster and greater processing power.

What if I want to upgrade, downgrade or cancel?

You can upgrade or downgrade your VPS hosting package at any time.

Upgrades are instant downgrades are activated at month end if initiated before the 20th of that month.

And since there are no contracts, if you want to cancel your VPS hosting service then just give us a calendar month's notice.

What exactly does 'Virtual' mean?

A physical machine split up to form a virtual infrastructure. This is managed and provides a high degree of reliability and availability.

The interaction with virtual servers is the same as dedicated servers: you get remote access via remote desktop or terminal SSH.

VPS gives you computing resources at a lower price when compared to dedicated servers which means that 'going virtual' equates to being more affordable for you.

Tell me a bit more about the process and what I get?

You get the dedicated options, and after we have provisioned your VPS we send you an email with everything you need to get started. You’re then good to go!

You can stop and start your VPS. You also enjoy full remote and SSH access.
